FUNCTIONAL FITNESS
Just as nutrition should be unique for each individual, so should your fitness routine. Functional Fitness refers to a unique training program that has been specifically designed for an individual based off of careful assessments, with the intention to help them function better in their daily lives and routines.

Assessments include a Postural Evaluation as well as The Functional Movement Screen. Both screenings provide vast amounts of information about the foundation of your posture, as well as the motor programs the body has created during functional movement patterns. With the information your trainer or practitioner is able to gather from these 2 assessments, they are than able to create a program that will give you exactly what you Need, as well as what you Want.
A Functional Fitness program will always be challenging, because it is always attacking your weakest point. Functional fitness programs are always designed with the intention of improving 7 primal movement patterns: squats, lunges, bending, push, pull, rotation, gait. In order to achieve this mission exercises must not be done on any fixed equipment that does not require the core to stabilize. Therefore when you walk into most functional training facilities what you will see may shock you. It does not look like your typical gym. There are no fixed pieces of nautilus equipment. Instead what you will see are pieces of equipment that will force your entire body to work during an exercise. You will find: Swiss Balls, Kettlebells, Free Weights, Cable Machines, Suspension Training Equipment, Ropes, Bands, and Tubing.
This type of fitness program is exactly what you need if you are looking for:
